Let me tell you this first: I didn't have high expectations going into this place. Dive bar with smoking. Dingy front inside a forgettable stripmall off the main roads. But WOW did this place blow those preconceptions out of the water.

Once inside, the ambiance is actually pretty decent. Music isn't too loud. Decor is pretty typical sports bar, but everything looks clean and pretty well maintained. I ordered the cheeseburger while my cohorts ordered the chicken clubs. It's Restaurant Week, too, so the sandwiches plus a beer are only $6.99. Super steal at any quality, right?

Damn these sandwiches and burgers are good! Seriously, the chicken club is absolutely massive, filled with meat and bacon and awesomeness. Portion-wise it's a great deal even at the normal price of $9. The cheeseburger was similarly big and very tasty. See my pictures and I'll say no more.

Service was also very attentive and friendly. I think this place would be a great neighborhood hangout and drink/eat establishment. My one criticism is that my clothes smell like cigarettes after our visit, but I think the food might just be worth it!

I was new to the area and trying out the different bars to find my new local hangout.  When I first went to Grumpy's it showed good promise.  I wasn't crazy about the smoking, but I got over that.  It is a bar.  The food was hit or miss.  The ruben was one of the best I've had in a while.  The chicken nachos were not good at all.  The famous Watsoni was just avg cheese dip.  The Fried Green Olives were pretty good.  The panko crust was good and not over cooked  The juke box was on and the atmosphere seemed good.  They have a pool table and some dart boards.  The bath room was pretty clean.  The decor seemed dated and from the 80's.

One thing I noticed and didn't like my first visit was they don't give you a receipt. They would just say you owe this much.  I went with it because the price sounded about right.  I went about 5 times and each time the amount was about the same $20 - $25.  Then one night I only had around 4 beers and didn't eat.  The bartender/manager yells out I owed $32.  That didn't sound right, so I asked how many I had.  He said 7.  I wasn't going to argue with him since I had no way to really prove what I had.  I just wrote on my charge receipt to stop over charging or something like that.  Honestly, I never thought I would go back.  I decided to try again and maybe just pay cash per drink or ask after each one how many I had.  I sat at a table and a waitress helped me.  She was really good and fast.  After my first beer, the bartender/manager came to my table with my charge receipt I left the last time.  He confronted me about it and was aggressive with asking why I would say that.   I just felt I didn't have that many but nothing I could do about it since they don't give a break down of what you have.  So he again said I had 7 beers, but he did admit I wasn't the first person to question him on orders.  When the waitress came back I asked her how much the beers were and if that was the regular price each day.  She told me it was $3.50 and that was the normal price.  So, 7 beers x $3.50 equals $24.50.  I was a little upset now because even with his math of 7 beers he over charged me (I still think I only had 4).  After tabbing out with her and giving her a tip and I asked her if I could speak with him or the owner.  A few min later instead of coming around the bar like he did before, he yells as he is walking towards me saying what do I want now.  I explained the math to him and he couldn't give me an answer on why is was $7.5 more than 7 beers.  He just said it had to be taxes.  Really? He then went on to say he is always right and the customer is always wrong.  It's called Grumpy's for a reason.  We got into it a bit, but again I knew I couldn't prove anything so it just wasn't worth my time.  I will take my money and tips else where.  This same bartender ( I think his name is Joshua), I watch him throw out multiple people over just a few weeks.  I think he is running some kind of scam there.  I have reported him to the local police for fraud.  If you do go there, I would recommend you don't just assume you will be charged correctly. Pay out after each order, so you don't get screwed.  I recommend JJ's, Markham Street Grill & Pub or  Khalil's Pub & Grill over in this area.  Way better customer service at these places.

This is the Monday night football chicken wing spot. My friends and I go here on monday's to watch football and eat chicken wings. Their wings are insanely  good. And on monday's they are 50 cent. My friends like the heat so they always order the ghost pepper sauced wings. I'm here to tell you don't do it. They have other great flavors like slap yo momma, jerk, and just regular. They also have a beer bucket special. The only drawback for me is that its a smoking bar. Other than that I have been frequenting grumpys for years and I will continue to go there.

Such an adorable atmosphere.  felt like it was my neighborhood bar and grill. The food was fantastic and the portions are huge. my husband and I shared a chicken club sandwich and we were both so full. The bartender was very friendly and personable.they have a great  on tap selection. Next time I'm in Little Rock I will be coming here for sure

My favorite dive bar in Little Rock! The staff is wonderful and so personable. The food gets better every time I eat there! You can smoke inside, but it's not overwhelming. I love this place!
